Schreiner University is set to name Kenny Treschitta as the program's first head coach, according to a report Monday from Mike Craven of Dave Campbell's Texas Football.
Schreiner is a Division III school located in Kerrville, Texas, west of Austin and San Antonio. The Mountaineers will play a junior varsity season in 2025 before joining the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2026.
Treschitta spent the past five seasons as the defensive coordinator at the University of New England, where he helped get that program off the ground. After a 2-7 debut in 2018, New England posted a better record in each successive season with Treschitta on staff.

In addition to first-hand knowledge of how to launch a program, Treschitta brings experience coaching every level of defense with him to the Hill Country.
Prior to NEU, Treschitta coached safeties at The Catholic University of America in 2015, inside linebackers at Becker College in 2014, and the defensive line at McKendree University in 2013.
