Sunbelt League Completes First Sweep In Prospect Games

Lynchburg, VA - On Monday and Tuesday, the Sunbelt sent some of its best prospects to Liberty University for the 2024 prospects games. The Sunbelt prospects will return home victorious as they won both scheduled games.
Monday night they took on the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League based out of New York / New Jersey. The Sunbelt took an early 5-0 lead and never looked back as they beat the Atlantic 17 – 10. Braeden Schnabel from the Alpharetta Aviators went 3-5 with 3 runs, a Triple, and 2 RBIs, and Jamarie Brooks from the Atlanta Blues went 2-4 with 2 Runs and an RBI. William Tarpley started the game going 2 innings with 2 strikeouts and no hits allowed. Braxton Beal earned the win for the Sunbelt as he went 1 inning with 2 strikeouts and no hit allowed.
Tuesday morning the Sunbelt took on the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League based out of New York. The Sunbelt took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a hit by Cole Tremain, resulting in a 2-run error by the Hamptons. The Hamptons tied the game up in the fifth inning scoring 2 runs of their own. In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Sunbelt took the lead with the bases loaded Kaleb Huffman hit a Sac Fly to center that scored the winning run. Jaden Anderson from the Atlanta Crackers went 2-2 with 2 walks in the game. Ethan Carroll started the game going 2 innings with 2 strikeouts and no hits allowed. Thomas Ballard also had a notable game going 1.2 innings with 3 strikeouts and no hits allowed. Avery Brown earned the win for the Sunbelt squad and Davis Williams earned the save.
The Sunbelt will return to its regular season action on Wednesday night with each series being a double header. The first game of the doubleheaders will start at 5:05 and 6:05 PM and the second game will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
